Obituary of Leo Neal Searfoss

Leo N. Searfoss, Sr., 93, passed on peacefully in the company of family on October 11, 2017, at Park Center in Cortland. Mr. Searfoss is a World War II veteran with medals, having served a lengthy deployment in Manila.

Mr. Searfoss, originally of Sayre, PA, married beautiful Juanita E. Bruce of Denton, TX, in 1944. He now joins his bride (2005) in the hereafter. He proudly served the Lehigh Valley railroad for forty years. After retirement he continued to work in Cortland at The Dark Horse until age 90.

Mr. Searfoss's children are Rocky (Fayann) and Ernest "Sparky" of Cortland, and Karen (Michael) Sheridan of Morrisville. He also is survived by siblings Clyde, Skip and Tillie.

His grandchildren are Lisa (Bill Crane) of Cortland, Ann Angle (George) of South Carolina, Michael J., of Albany, Katherine E. (Tim) of Maryland, Jeffrey (Katie) of Philadelphia, and Melissa of New Jersey. Mr. Searfoss leaves five great grandchildren. They are Sheridan and Chancey (Crane), and Brooks, Katie and new baby Leo (Angle).

Mr. Searfoss was a friend to all, a great man, and a wonderful husband and father.

Calling hours are Saturday October 14, 2017 from 3 to 4:45 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Lincoln Ave., with a memorial service at 5.
