Obituary of James M. McKendrick

James M. McKendrick 78, of Cortland, passed away on January 11, 2018 at Crouse-Irving Memorial, Hospital. Jim was born on October 3, 1939. He graduated from Cortland High School and attended Morrisville Community College. James retired from the United States Postal Service and was currently a volunteer at the CNY Living History Museum. James was an avid Cornell hockey and lacrosse fan, having held season tickets for Cornell Hockey for many years. He was a member of the Cortlandville Masonic Lodge and the Cortland Elks Club. He also had belonged to the Homer Rod and Gun Club where he enjoyed shooting. James was predeceased by his Father, James F. McKendrick and Mother, Norma (Brown) McKendrick. He is survived by brother Martin (Nanci) McKendrick, La Quinta, CA, sister Joan E. Blaich, Syracuse, NY and sister Deborah (David) Horgan, Odessa, FL, 10 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January18, at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Friends and family may call at 10 to 11am and a service will follow at 11am.
