Clinton Abram Skinner born August 22, 1910 in Long Eddie, New York to Abram Wallace Skinner and Many Ann Mauthe Skinner died May 18, 2009. He was predeceased by his wife Helen A. 1987 and son Douglas E. 1987. Surviving are his children Richard A. (Doris E.) Skinner of Fernandina Beach, FL, daughter Marie A. (Frank) Thompson of Kansas City, MO and Carol A. Valentino of Ithaca, NY. Eight grandchildren; Steve Skinner, Heather June Walsh, Patrick Thompson, Kathleen Tangeri, Mark Skinner, Karen Walker, Laura Argus and Frank Valentino Jr. Eleven great grandchildren children and one great great granddaughter. Clint was a long time resident of the Cortland area. He first started with Sears & Roebucks in Binghamton in 1928 and was the manager of the Cortland store during WWII. After his retirement from sears he enjoyed employment locally in several different venues. He was last employed by the Cortland Country Club where he worked with the greens crew. In his nineties his specialty was the flower beds there. There are no calling hours. There will be a graveside service at the Glenwood Cemetery Homer, NY, June 2 at 12 P.M. Rev. Allan Ferguson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Clints name may be directed to Hospicare of Ithaca 172 E. King Road Ithaca NY 14850 or Groton Nursing Facility 120 Sykes Street, Groton, NY 13073. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. has assisted the family in arrangements.
