Amy M. Barrett, 88, of N. Main St. Homer passed away Monday May 18 after a lengthy illness at her home. She was born April 3, 1921 in Two Creeks, Manitoba, Canada , the daughter of the late Donald and Ella Maxfield Munn. Amy grew up in Kingston, NY, before moving to the area. She has been an area resident most of her life. Amy worked at Smith Elementary School for many years as a secretary. She was a member of Homer United Methodist Church, and was very active in church organizations. Mrs. Barrett is survived by her son Duncan (Ann) Barrett of Troy, daughters Carolyn (Alan) Amos of Mass., Marthajane (Barry) Warren of Cortland, Sister Carolyn (Dr. Max) Goodfried of TX, grandchildren Samuel Warren of NJ, Nathan and Molly Warren of Cortland, Sara Barrett of New Zealand, Barrett Amos of WA, Duncan Amos of MA, Devlin (Miranda) Barrett of VA, and their son Finnian Benjamin, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Barrett in 1997. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Sunday May 24 at Homer United Methodist Church with Rev. Allan Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
