Richard S. Niver, 89 beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 6, 2024 in Syracuse.
He retired from Whitacre Engineering in 1998 after a long career of commercial truck driving. When he wasn't at the coffee shop with friends, he was helping people with home improvement projects.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Geraldine Niver; daughter Cherylann Niver, daughter Lucinda (John) Yeager, son Richard (Tracie) Niver, daughter LeAnne (Chris) Carroll, sister Beverly Seamans, sister Barbara Phillips, brother Charlie Niver,11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings Clayton Niver, Phillip Niver, Donald Niver, and Robert Niver.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 3pm to 4:45pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland, NY 13045 with a funeral service to begin at 5pm. Burial will be in the spring at McGraw Cemetery.
