Obituary of josephine H. Harrington

josephine "Jo" H. Harrington, 71, of Kinney Gulf Rd. Cortland passed away Friday June 12, surrounded by friends and family at Cortland Regional Medical Center after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born June 12, 1938 in Plymouth, MA, the daughter of the late Horace and Edna Horner. She has been a longtime resident of the Cortland area. Jo graduated from Plymouth High School in 1956. She then married her husband Henry at St. Peter's Church in Plymouth in 1956, MA and moved to Cortland in 1957. She worked for SCM for 38 years. Jo was a member of St. Anthony's church of Cortland. Her hobbies included bowling, golf, and occasional visit to the Turning Stone. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her loved and cherished grandchildren. Jo is survived by her husband Henry of 53 years, sons John , Mark (Molly), grandchildren Kyle and Megan of Cortland, her lifelong friend Jan Vestal of Groton, sister Alice (Bud) Waitt, nieces and nephews of MA. She was predeceased by hers sons Michael and David. Funeral Services will be held 10 am Wednesday June 17 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland with Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
