Obituary of Donald C. West

Donald C. West Sr., 66, 3225 E. River Rd., Truxton, passed away July 17, 2009 at St. joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. Mr. West was born October 6, 1942 in Taylor, NY the son of the late Kenneth A. and Lottie Grant West Sr. Mr. West had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. Donald had most recently been employed at Advanced Auto. Prior to that he had been employed at TDR Oil and for many years was employed by the City of Cortland Sanitation Dept. Mr. West is survived by his wife of 43 years Wanda Smith west, three sons; Steve P. (Brenda) of Cortland, Donald Jr. (Kathy) and Michael both of Truxton. One daughter Julie (Kenny) West of Truxton. His brothers and sisters; Carol, Kenny, Rick, Lyle, Daryl, Frank, Debbie and Roger. May grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mr. West was predeceased by three children Daniel, Jerry and Carlotta, and one brother Jimmy west. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday 4:00-7:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. A time of sharing memories and stories will begin at 7:00 PM.
