Irene M. Potter 96, of Cortland passed away July 30, 2009 in Cortland Regional Medical Center. Irene was born May 12, 1913 in Windsor, NY the daughter of the late Ray and Maude Blowers French. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended Cortland High School, and graduated from Edgecomb Business School. She had been employed at Smith Corona for over27 years, and was a member of the Cortland Sr. Citizens club, the eighties club and RSVP. Irene is survived by her children Russell (Connie) Potter of Cortland, Gordon (Renate Willsey of Freeville, James (Louise) Potter of PA, Ray (Lorraine) Potter of PA, Catherine (Ralph) Bishop of Tully, Beverly Horner of Dryden, Florence Morris of North Carolina, Medora Sally"(Russell) White of Cortland, Virginia (Charles) York of Indiana, Betty (Henry) Henson of Kentucky, Delores (Michael) Griffith of Tenn. 37 grandchildren, several great, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Irene was predeceased by her husband Frank Potter in 1986, Sister Doris Willsey and grandchildren Sherry and Scott Bement. Funeral services will beld 11:00 am Monday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. with the Reverend Archie Smith officiating Friends are invited to call Sunday from 5-7 pm and Monday from 10:00 €“10:45 am prior to the service.
