Obituary of Alice L Moore

Alice L. Moore, 94 of E. River, Rd. East Homer, passed away surrounded by her loving and devoted family, October 5, 2009 at the Cortland Care Center. Mrs. Moore was born June 23, 1915 in Truxton, NY the daughter of William and Lena Morton Baltz. . Mrs. Moore and her husband enjoyed farming on the Moore family farm for seventy years. She had been an active member for over 60 years of both the East Homer Methodist Church and the Albright Grange. Serving both faithfully in all capacities through her many years as a member. Mrs. Moore was a past 4-H leader and member of the Tioughnioga Senior Citizens. Mrs. Moore is survived by her son Richard (Debbie) of East Homer, two daughters; Marjorie (Lawrence) Ryan of Cortland and Avalena (Jack) Rainbow of Truxton. Grandchildren; Colleen, Michael, John, Durinida, Daniel, Wendy, Wayne, Kathy & Karen. Twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Moore was predeceased by her husband of seventy years Frederick W. Moore in October of 2006 and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dora and Perry Halstead. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the East Homer Methodist Church with the Rev. Nelson Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in the East Homer Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on Friday evening 6:00-8:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. She had a long and wonderful life. I have many happy memories of time I was able to spend with both grandma and grandpa on the farm.I wished I could have gotten up there to see her.
