Juanita Christina Wetherell, 80 of Sierra Vista, AZ; formerly of Cortland, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 30, 2009. She was born April 16th, 1929 in Cortland, NY, the daughter of the late Gladys and Fred Shepard. Juanita worked at 281 Bowl and was a long time employee of Cortland Regional Medical Center from which she retired. She then went on to work at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, VA, Wal-Mart in both Cortland, NY and later Wal-Mart in Sierra Vista, AZ. Juanita enjoyed her family, friends, traveling and shopping. Her memory will be cherished by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which she adored. She is survived byher daughter; Paula (Greg) McCann of Sierra Vista, AZ; son, William (Carrie) Wetherell of Marathon, NY; grandson, Guy (Melissa) McCann of Lexington, SC; granddaughters, Allison McCann of Biloxi, MS; Kelsey Wetherell of Cortland, NY; great grandchildren, Devynne McCann, Christopher and Justyn McCann ; sister-in-law, Shirley Shepard of Cortland, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Marion (Ed) Wetherell in 1982 and by her brother, Gordon Shepard in 1991. Details regardinga memorial service, followed by internment in McLean will be announced at a later date.
