Doris F. Shutt, 88, formerly of Pendleton St., Cortland passed away January 11, 2010 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Shutt was born January 5, 1922 in Cortland the daughter of the late Charles and Lena Smith Fleming. Mrs. Shutt had been a life long resident of the area. Prior to retiring she had been employed at the Recreation Bowling Alley. Doris was a past member of the Cortland Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club. Mrs. Shutt is survived by her two daughters; Deborah (Loren) Stone of Marathon and Barbara (George D.) Neubauer of Truxton, one brother Carl Fleming of Ormond Beach, FL. Two granddaughters, Santina Bishop and Sandra Rogers great grandchildren, Christian and Tiffany Rogers, Colton, Kennedy and Allison Bishop several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 3:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Interment will take place in the Virgil Cemetery in the spring. Friends are invited to call on Thursday 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
