Obituary of Elizabeth C. Luba

Elizabeth C. Betty Luba, 81, of Marathon, NY passed away Wed. Jan. 20 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. She was born Oct. 23, 1928 in Mt. Kisco, NY, the daughter of the late Ernest and Anntoinette Russo Bennett. Betty went to various private High Schools growing up. She worked as a telephone operator for many years, where she met her husband George Luba Sr. They married in 1948. They lived in N.J., before moving there family to the New York Metropolitan area. In1954 they moved to central New York. Betty was active in the Marathon Co-op. She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her sons James of Marathon, George (Renee) Jr. of S. Dakota, and daughter Dawn Luba of Marathon. Betty was predeceased by her husband George F. Luba Sr. in 1999.
