Alice P. Gorman 76 of Cortland passed away April 11, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. Alice was born May 20, 1933 in Cortland the daughter of the late Charlie and Eva Lang Puderbaugh. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Cortland and enjoyed gardening and sewing. She had been employed at SUNY Cortland for over 22 years. Alice is survived by her husband John V. Gorman of Cortland, her daughters Brenda J.Gorman of Cortland, Debra G.Sovocool of Syracuse, son J. Brent Gorman of ST.Louis, Missouri, sisters Roberta (Laurence) Lash of Cortland, Mary Thompson of Kennett Square , PA, Vera (Richard) Drumm of Tully, grandchildren Matthew J and Zachary M. Sovocool, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Alice was predeceased by her brothers Gordon and George Puderbaugh. Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family There are no calling hours.Wright-Beard Funeral Home is assisting the family. My deceased husband, Hugh, worked w/your Mom for many years at the college and thought alot of her. I don't know if you remember but I worked w/you at Monarch and your Dad, many many years ago at NYSE&G. They were both super people and will be fondly remembered. Charlane Johnny, Brenda, Debra, and Brent, I am so sorry about Alice's passing. I remember those days at our family reunions and when Dad and Mom (Dan & Rita) would pack all of us in the car and we'd travel to Cortland to visit all of you. Alice was always a lady and so hospitable. I hope you are all holding up OK...it is so hard to lose your mom...and Johnny...this must be so hard for you. You all have a life time of great memories to cherish and Alice will always be with you in your hearts. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. He recalled she has always spoken kindly to him for years whenever their paths crossed, & I said, yes, she was a very good woman. I'm so sorry that you've lost her.
