Marvin T. Marvelous Marv Johnson 66 of Cortland, passed away November 2, 2011 in Syracuse, NY Marv was born July 29, 1945 in Cortland the son of the late Perry and L. Irene McCaskill Johnson. Marv had been employed by SCM and most recently at Marietta, he was an avid bowler and golfer, and was a member of the Cortland County Bowlers Hall of Fame. Marv is survived by his brother Daniel (Donna) Johnson of Cortland, his niece Nancy (Paul Giles) Barnett of Cortland, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Cortland Rural Cemetery at Marvs request there will be no funeral service. In addition to his parents Marv was predeceased by his sisters Leora Williams, Bessie Natale, Frances Seymour, and brother Paul LeRoy Johnson In Lieu of flowers anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Marvs name is asked to consider the Cortland County SPCA 879 McLean Road Cortland, NY 13045 To offer online condolences visit www.wright-beard.com Dan and Donna; So sorry to hear about Marvin. I often ran into him at the grocery store and he was always egar to talk and let you know how the world was going with him.. Hadn't seen him in awhile. He was always great to work with, having started working with him way back at Huntington St. in the 1960's, and he was always a great bowler. I'm sure he will be missed by all.
