David, we were so sorry to hear of Shirley's death. We will definitely be keeping you and the family in our prayers. Your dad, brother & family.
The world is a lot smaller now because Shebee filled a very large part of it. She was there when anybody needed anything. Fortunately she will always be in our hearts and bring a smile when we think of her because she always smiled, laughed and loved being who she was. I will always remember her that way and when I think of her it will fill me with warmth and I'll share the smile for all to see. Tom Gibeson

I had prayed to god give her this month, A little more time thats all ill ask. The month was almost gone, no not yet i prayed, just a few more days, please just let her stay. The days went quick, no not yet i prayed just a few more hours, please let her stay. As hours turned to minutes there you still lay, and i thought to myself today is the day. God knew it was time to bring another angel home, but still i prayed please dont take her just give her this day. My prayers remained unanswered & he didnt let you stay instead he gave you wings so you could fly away. Its at that time i realized, that just because god doesnt answer you doesnt mean he dont care, some of gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.* Even though you were not my birth mother you were always like a second mom to me. You were there whenever i needed you day or night . We shared lots of memories some good & some bad but i wouldnt trade them for anything. You taught me to love myself no matter what & when my self esteem was at an all time low you picked me up & put the pieces back together & for that i am eternally greatful. I couldnt ask for a more caring loving & generous godmother/aunt you truley are one of a kind & i feel blessed to have had you in my life. you may be gone but you will never be forgotten i will carry you in my heart forever & a day! Please take care of my baby girl & give her lotts of kisses for me i love you shebee to the moon & back XOXOXO *Tiffany (toodlebug)

We used to be 2 peas in a pod you & I we did everything together we were inseperable we stuck together through thick & thin which made Letting you go one of the hardest things i have ever had to do but i couldnt be selfish any longer. To all of Shirley's friends and family. I went to school with Shirl and she was cool then and I am sure most of you will agree to that. I am sorry that she was so sick. I work for a Hospice Company in Tennessee now and it is sad but a good thing to have. My prayers and thoughts go with her families. May god bless each and every one of you. Betsy (Murphy) Root
\Oh Shirl, I am so sorry we didn't keep in touch,,,how could the years pass so quickly, I remember the last time we ran into each other was in the early '80's when I went into the Cortland Hospital for appendicitis. I was so surprised to see you there & happy that someone I knew was going to be there when I was in such a bad way. Mom & John brought me into the hospital-each of them carrying me under their shoulders because I couldn't walk. I was taken in quickly because they were afraid my appendix would burst. They put me into my room and then you showed up. I was so surprised and relieved to see you. You made me me laugh all the way to the operating room! I didn't realize where I was going because you kept me laughing all the way into the room. I won't ever forget what a good friend you were and what a fantastic nurse you were. I am not surprised everyone says you were a good nurse.. I agree with them. You were always there to help anyone you could even in high school you were the one to take everyone under your wing. You will be sorely missed but you are in a better place -- keep watch over your family and friends from your new home in heaven. God Bless and Remember the Good Times.
