Obituary of Doris M. Ward Young

Doris M. Ward Young passed away Friday March 22, 2013 in Cortland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born May 16, 1925 in Truxton, the daughter of the late Leon and Helen Reakes Ward, and was a lifelong resident of Truxton. Doris was a member of the Truxton United Methodist Church and the Albright Grange #440 in East Homer. Doris is survived by her son Carleton L. Young of Truxton, her daughter Carol (Gene) Eldred of High Point N.C. , her grandchildren Nadine Wilson and Bryanne Eldred, of Winston-Salem, N.C. Elizabeth Anselm of High Point, N,C, and Amelia Anselm of Denver, Co, 3 great-grandchildren Jacob Wilson, Pandora and Madeline Marques, many nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Donald Young in 1999 and her brother Gordon Ward. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Monday at the Truxton United Methodist Church with the Reverend Nelson Stafford officiating. Friends are invited to call Sunday evening from 6:00 €“ 8:00 pm the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Spring Interment will be held in East Homer Cemetery.
