Obituary of Johann L. Mauzy

Johann L. Mauzy, 73, passed away Sunday March 18, 2018. Johann was a resident at Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. Johann was born in Willett, New York, the daughter of the late George Merchant and Doris Furman. She worked at Smith Corona, the Cortland Hospital, and went on to be a Homemaker later on. Johann was a member of the Berean Bible Church. She loved her dog Simon and enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her flowers and birds. Johann also enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting, and immensely loved her family. She even created a family genealogy project. Johann is survived by her husband Sherman Mauzy; her three sons, Russell (Debra) Mauzy, Scott (Kathy) Mauzy, Steven Mauzy; a daughter Lauri Mauzy; her sisters Joan Merchant and Helen Martin; two brothers Tom and George Merchant; a sister-in-law Bonnie Merchant; grandchildren Shelly, Taylor, and Mathew; as well as a great grandson Jace. Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 22, 2018 from 3pm-5pm at the Wright Beard Funeral Home, will a service immediately to follow.
