Obituary of Ronald B. Petracca Sr.

Ronald Petracca Sr., 87, of Cortlandville, passed away August 30, 2018 at University Hospital in Syracuse. He was born October 8, 1930 in Brooklyn NY, the son of the late Carmine and Carmela Petracca.

Mr. Petracca served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1951-1953, then with Naval reserves until 1955 and was honorably discharged. He was the owner operator Petracca Construction for over twenty years then went on to work as an inspector for the New York State Dormitory Authority. Ron was a communicant of St. Mary's Church for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 yrs. Dorothy Petracca, his sons Ronald (Maureen) Petracca Jr. and Robert (Lisa) Petracca, his grandchildren Brianna, Ryan, Mary Bernadette, Joseph Levi, and Francis Xavier Petracca, his sister Helena Ottaviano, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by eight siblings.

Calling hours will be Monday 4-6 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church, Cortland NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland.
