Obituary of Muriel P. Newcomb

Muriel Dawn Newcomb went to be with the Lord on 1/10/19 @ The Commons @ St. Anthony, Auburn NY. She graduated from Ithaca College of Music before becoming Superintendent of Music for Cortland City School District. Traveling extensively, she particularly enjoyed singing with the Bill Gaither Group in Israel for the Parliament. While pianist for the Cuyler Methodist Church she also enjoyed directing the local Community Choir, mentoring young music students, her time on DeRuyter Lake and her home on Walden Pond in Cortland. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Harry, her son William, sisters Peggy & Ruth, brother Ralph and her predeceased son Robert. Calling hour is Thursday 1/17/19 from 10-11 AM with services immediately following at Wright Beard Funeral Home in Cortland NY. Burial will take place in the spring. The family respectfully requests donations in lieu of flowers be sent to Community Choir C/O Winslow Steele, 260 East Lake Rd, DeRuyter NY 13052
