Anne Louise Andersen Anne Louise Andersen, 89, of Cortland NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 23rd after a brief illness. Anne was born in Brooklyn, NY to Knut and Ida Haakonsen on June 7th 1930. She graduated from Fort Hamilton High School and attended Katharine Gibbs Business School in New York City. She was a legal secretary in Brooklyn for Attorneys Seth Rubinstein and Kevin Flood and then a typist for a Norwegian Newspaper also in Brooklyn. While following her passion for painting she met Doris Jensen. The two of them became the closest and dearest of friends. Together they both learned and then taught Norwegian rosemaling as a team. They were close friends ever since. Doris even designed the rosemaling image that is on the back of Anne's headstone. After retirement Anne, Ernst, and Kurt moved to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, where Anne lived for 31 years and was involved with Mount Bethel Church and Tuscarora Bible Camp. These two places gave her the happiest of memories and the most wonderful friends! She especially loved the Tuesday morning breakfast group at the Mt. Bethel Diner and never wanted to miss it. In 2017, Anne and her son Kurt moved up to Cortland to live with her daughter Deanna and son-in-law Marty. But Pennsylvania was always close to her heart. Earlier this month, Anne was so excited to finally get back to Pennsylvania and to be able to visit with so many family and friends. Thank you very much for every one's effort to make that trip extra special!
