Obituary of Edson "Ted" Lawrence

Pastor Ted Lawrence went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2019. He was surrounded by his wife and children in his home. Ted was born in Elmira, NY, April 3, 1957 to Gerald and Theresa Lawrence. Pre-deceased by his father and mother. Survived by siblings: Sandra Just, Bruce Lawrence, Dawn Stillwell, Dusty Lawrence, Gary Lawrence, Darlene Gridley, Phillip Wytrwa, Scott Wytrwa, Tina Stiles. Also survived by his wife Diane Doolittle Lawrence and their children Stephen (Amber), John (Shannon), Peter (Kristin), and Abigail Lawrence, eight beloved grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ted graduated from Odessa Montour High School in 1976 and Baptist Bible College in 1980. He then went on to serve as Assistant Pastor at Glen Baptist Church, Pastor at First Baptist Church, Angelica, NY, West Smyrna Baptist Church, Smyrna, NY and Grace Baptist Church, Citrus Springs, FL. In 1981, Ted married Diane. In their 38 years of marriage he loved and served his family with joy. Throughout his ministry he loved people and served God faithfully and humbly. Calling hours will be from 5-7 P.M. on Friday, August 23 at Wright Beard Funeral Home in Cortland, NY. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 24 at 11 A.M. at Bible Baptist Church in Cortland, NY. Burial and a meal will follow. All are invited to come to the meal and share a memory.
