Obituary of Catherine A. Wood

Catherine A. Wood, age 63, passed away suddenly on January 4, 2022. She was born on March 24, 1958 in Staten Island, NY. Catherine, known by many as Cathy, lived the majority of her life in Cortland and Trumansburg, NY and had worked in the health care field. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert F. and Nancy Wessels Wood; brothers, Rodney Wood and Michael Wood; son Christopher G. Wood, and grandson, Christopher G. Wood Jr. She is survived by her son, Matthew Wood (Erin) of Cortland; four sisters, Susan Wood of Cortland, Nancy Wood of Cortland, Theresa Wood Al-musa of Amman, Jordan, Rachel Wood and Renee Wood Passeri of Cortland; two brothers, Gregory Wood of Homer and David Wood of Cortland, grandchildren, Caytlyn, Christa, Britnney, Jacob, Rebekah, Khloe, Lucas and Ethan, and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A calling hour will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 10-11 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY, with a memorial service to follow. The burial will be at noon at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cortland. Father Dan Caughey will be officiating.
