Obituary of Beatrice Lammers

Beatrice "Bea" Irene Martsolf Lammers, 94, the widow of the Reverend Donald H. Lammers, formerly of the United Presbyterian Church of Cortland, NY passed away early February 6, 2022 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY close by her son Timothy. She was the youngest girl of nine children and raised on a family farm in Butler, PA outside Pittsburgh. She attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA where she met her husband of 56 years Don. They both enjoyed laughter and the occasional practical joke on one another and trick or treaters. In addition to ably assisting Don in his many positions within the Presbyterian Church, she worked for several years including as office manager, assistant to Theodore Fenstermacher, a noted Cortland attorney and civic leader. As Fenstermacher's executrix, she administered charitable grants from The Fenstermacher Fund, a Cortland based and focused community fund, whose projects included Cortland's Beaudry Park Building. She is survived by her son, Timothy, 66, and his husband, Christopher Wiss, both of Germantown, NY and New York City. Additional survivors include her sister-in-law Joan Martsolf of Butler, PA, niece Barbara Green Frederick also of Butler, PA, nephew Clyde Martsolf of Chardon, OH, niece Lois Colbridge of Fredericksburg, VA and nephew Larry Westerman (Jodi) of Portland, OR. She also leaves devoted friends and neighbors from the United Presbyterian Church and her home on Circle Drive in Cortland. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Memorial Book Plates Fund at the Cortland Free Library, 32 Church Street, Corland, NY 13045 or to The Westminster College Fund, 319 South Market Street, New Wilmington, PA 16172. A memorial service will be held Monday June 13, 2022 11 am at the United Presbyterian Church, Church St., Cortland NY, 13045.
