Obituary of Belden Whitmarsh

Belden W. Whitmarsh Sr., 79, passed away on Sunday March 27, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1942 in Russell, NY. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed beer, Jack Daniels, and was a jokester. He was a Master Technician for Dovi Motors for several years. Bill was also a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the DAV, and the American Legion. Bill is survived by his wife Carol Whitmarsh, his children Belden Whitmarsh Jr., Richard Whitmarsh, Amanda (Connor Jones) Rapalee, and Tracey Whitmarsh, his brother Sid Whitmarsh, his grandchildren Nicholas Whitmarsh, Tucker and Aubrey Rapalee, and Amelia Jones, his many nieces and nephews, and his step grandchildren and step nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his son Christopher Whitmarsh, his brothers Fred, Wayne, and Art Whitmarsh. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2022 from 3-5pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A memorial service will follow at 5.
