Obituary of Donald L. Williams Sr.

"A husband, a father, a grandpa too, this is the legacy we have from you." Retired City of Cortland DPW Heavy Equipment Operator, Donald Leroy "Don" Williams Sr. passed away on 04/28 at the age of 73, in his hometown of Cortland NY. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Don came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. Don is survived by the love of his life & wife Sheila Williams, and children Don Williams Jr., Lyla Williams (Chandra Singh), Granddaughters Melinda, Samantha, Brandi, Brooke and Chloe. Don is also survived by 2 Step-Granddaughters and 11 great grandchildren. Don is also survived by his Sister-in-Law Brenda Dragoon, Brother-in-Law William Dragoon and 4 nieces. One of the most cherished memories Don's children will always have is when they would bug their Dad to go do this and that after school and Don would respond "wait until your Mother gets home and we'll iron things out!"
