Obituary of John Davis

John Davis, 71, of Cortland, NY passed away on his birthday, surrounded by his loved ones, on Tuesday May 17, 2022 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was born May 17, 1951 in Cortland, NY the son of the late Walter and Mary Jane Anderson Davis. John was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. Always willing to do whatever he could to lend a hand. He worked hard his entire life, retiring as a supervisor at Intertek. He spent some of his retirement working as a delivery driver for Kinney Drugs in Cortland, and then spent his time collecting odds and ends of just about anything and continuing to be a loving and ever so helpful father and grandfather, even through his illness. John is predeceased by his parents, a sister Joanne (Felice) Cortese, and a brother Norris Davis. He is survived by a sister, Nancy Ball. His daughters Amy Davis and Julie (Dorothea) Bowers, two grandsons Anthony and Gianni, and two granddaughters, Kaylee and Karly, nieces, nephews and friends. Calling hours, in lieu of services, will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 5-7pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY.
