Thelma E. Langford, 97, of Cortland, passed away on May 30, 2022. She was born on May 7, 1925 in Cortland to her parents, the late John Walrad and Dorothy Barry. Thelma worked for many years as a Racket Stringer for Wilson Sporting Goods. She was a collector of clocks and enjoyed flowers and working in her garden. Thelma was a true lover of animals and would help any animal in need; even if it meant finding them a home. In times of good weather, she could be found outside feeding the squirrels. Thelma also enjoyed meeting friends for a cup of coffee or a slice of pizza. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Kensinger, June (Kirk) Langford-Caloroso, and Wendy, Schumacher; her grandchildren, Constance Tallett, Mark Tallett, Ashley Warfield, Courtney Stark, Dylan Barrows, Brendan Schumacher, Bradley Caloroso and Lindsey Caloroso; as well as eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her husband Robert Specht, her grandson Gregory Kensinger, a sister Hilda Bird, and her life-long companion Earl Silvernail. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 10am to 12pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. with a service to immediately follow at 12pm which will be live streamed, and can be viewed through Thelma's obituary page on the Wright-Beard website.
