Marjorie E. (Lierley) “Midge” Alama Born in Clarence, MO June 25, 1919 Passed peacefully July 6th, 2022 in Syracuse, NY She worked at Bell Telephone in St. Louis, MO and after WWII was married to Malcolm “Mac” Alama from Cortland, NY for over 54 years in Syracuse, NY. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grand & great grandmother. She loved her years with the Meachem School Mother’s Club, the Home Bureau Cornell Exchange and the V.I.P. Senior group in Syracuse. At 103 she lived through the Depression, WWII, saw lots of inventions & medical miracles. She also outfoxed 2 world pandemics. She baked countless pies, other goodies & sewed many gorgeous quilts as well. Her dry wit and down home expressions served her well. She adored Elvis and her favorite song was “Amazing Grace” Her best advice can be summed up as this: Eat a hearty breakfast, plant lots of flowers & get off your fanny & mow your lawn”. Sage advice, Marge Ellen. Memorial service will be planned for a later date.
