Obituary of Patricia Lyon

Patricia Ann “Patty” Lyon, 49 of Cortland passed away on October 3, 2022 at her residence. She was born on March 17, 1973 in Cortland a daughter of John Lyon and Susan McCall. Patty was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Ed and Barbara Lyon, and her father John Lyon. Patty is survived by mother, Susan Minshall, sister, Becky Lyon, niece and nephew, Laney and Kolton Beach, her special Uncle Joel, Aunt Cookie, many cousins, aunts, uncles, her extended family at the ARC, and hundreds of friends she made while working at the JM Murray Center and volunteering through the ARC. Patty graduated from Homer High School in 1994. She won an Equestrian Award at the Special Olympics. Patty would want you to be happy, no sadness for her because she always lived her life looking past the pain and grief to find the happiness and fun in every situation. Calling hours will be 1-3 PM Friday, October 14 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, with a memorial service at 3 PM.
