Anita Beers, 90 of McGraw NY, passed away December 28, 2022 at the Cortland Guthrie Medical Center. She was born September 5, 1932 in Gloversville NY, the daughter of the late Everett & Neva Fox Rulison. Anita and her family came to the Cortland area when she was a young child. She attended and graduated from McGraw High School in 1950. In 1951 she married her late husband "Jr." and they remained in McGraw where they lived and raised their family. Anita worked at Higgins Supply Co. until her retirement. Following Jr's passing she then volunteered at the Cortland Hospital. They were longtime members of the McGraw Methodist Church and in her spare time enjoyed baking; especially formulating her own recipes for cookies. Her family will cherish her memory as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially observing family functions listening to their stories and successes. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sons Michael (Lisa) Beers, Mark & (Jaimie) Beers, her daughter Tracy (Bradley) Preston, her grandchildren Brandi, Scott (Tasia), Nicholas (Jess), Frankie (Rory), Tasha (Jason), Chase (LauraLee), Alexandra (Mark), Lindsay (Scott), Thomas, Danielle, and Diedre, along with fourteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Charles "Jr." Beers in 2016 and their infant son, Alan in 1953. A private graveside service will be held in the spring at the McGrawville Rural Cemetery. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home of Cortland is serving the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org or call 1-800-805-5856
