Obituary of Richard Powers Mudge

Richard P. Mudge Jr. 79, of Cortland, NY passed away January 17, 2023 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center from complications of Alzheimer's disease He was born March 29, 1943 in Cortland, NY the son of the late Richard P. Mudge Sr. and Lillian Stark Mudge. Following graduation from Cortland High School in 1961 he went to work at Sears Roebuck in Cortland and later managed their automotive garage department in Fayetteville, NY. He returned to Cortland and was employed at William Auto Parts. Deciding to work for himself, he then started Richmark Antenna Service installing and servicing satellite and tv antennas. Dick had many interests including drag racing his car and watching and attending NASCAR races. He also owned many types of boats from hydroplanes to cabin cruisers. Most of all, he loved snowmobiling. He was a member of the Groton Ridge Runners snowmobile club. He spent many winters riding in Old Forge, NY. He also enjoyed riding locally and throughout Canada with his many friends. Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl Wagner Mudge, son Rory P. Mudge (Gloria), and granddaughters Jasmine and Lynn of Fort Myers, Florida. He also leaves behind his brother Robert (Francine) and his sister-in-law Jerri Minielli.
