Douglas B. Fenton, 77, of Scott NY passed away June 11, 2023 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born August 9, 1945 in Washington DC, the son of the late William and Olive Ortwine Fenton. Doug was a graduate of Northwood School in Lake Placid in 1965, SUNY Delhi in 1967 with an AAS in Business and Construction, then completed training with Zerox 1-2-3 course. Doug spent his working career in Heavy Construction serving as an assistant project manager in Albany, then was field manager in Chicago in 1974 and then worked as project manager in Rochester in 1975. Then in 1980 took a position in sales for Advanced Drainage System commercial storm and sewer pipe for many years throughout Central New York State. His memberships included Young Republican's Club, Homer Rod and Gun Club, and Cayuga County Sportsman's Club. Doug's interest in the outdoors led him to shooting clays, fishing, boating on Skaneateles Lake, enjoying wildlife, the love of his two black Labs Abbey & Bailey, upland bird hunting and he always enjoyed a good Manhattan at the end of the day. Doug was predeceased by his daughter Emily Bess Fenton in 1985. He is survived by his wife Carol Brewer Fenton, many cousins and special friends. Burial will be at the Cortland Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
