Obituary of John Vaughan

John Vaughan, of Cortland, passed away on September 26, 2023. John was a graduate of Homer High School and TC3 and worked many years for Agway Energy Products. John had passion for music and played guitar, fiddle, and mandolin in several bands over the years including Backroom Bluegrass, Redwood Hill Bluegrass Band, and most recently Calico Moon. He is survived by his wife Karen, and stepchildren R. Antonia (Eric) Matthaeus of Chandler, AZ, Joseph and Rebekah Searles of Cortland, and grandchildren Mara Matthaeus of AZ and Nova Zapata of Cortland, and a nephew Robert Berbaum of Whitney Point. John was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Phyllis Vaughan, a brother Roger Vaughan and sister Marjorie Berbaum. There will be no calling hours or funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Center for the Arts of Homer or Hospice of Cortland.
