Obituary of Dawn P. Church

Dawn Church, 83, of Cortland, NY passed away on Sunday October 8, 2023. She was born on January 29, 1940, the daughter of the late Glenn and Cora Randall Philo. Dawn was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend. She was a homemaker and loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved taking them places and being included in anything that involved them. She will be greatly missed. Dawn is survived by her children Georgie Church and Kathleen (Jody) Case, a daughter-in -law Kathy Church, her siblings Ann Eddy, Mark Philo, and Genevieve (Al) Conrad, her grandchildren Noah Evans, Matthew Wood, Brian Church, Jennifer Case, Stephanie Case, Jamie (Paige) Case, Kameren Case, Heather (Shawn) Paley, Shane Marshall, Holly Williams, Michael Williams, Julie Church, Justin Church, Lisa Church, Steven Cowen, and Hunter LaMarre, her 23 great grandchildren, and her 6 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dawn is predeceased by her husband George Church, her children Mark Church, Ricky Church, Lori (Fred) Marshall, Cindy (Danny) Williams, and Amy LaMarre, her granddaughter Melissa Marshall, and her sister Patricia Newkirk. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 12pm at the Cortland Rural Cemetery, 110 Tompkins St., Cortland. A Celebration of life will follow at 1pm at the Salvation Army, 138 S. Main St., Cortland.
