Susan M. Mitchell 70 of Cortland, formerly of Marathon and Lowville, passed away on February 25, 2024, at Crown Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cortland. She was born on April 19, 1953, in Watertown, NY a daughter of Allen and Rita Hubbard Bero.
Susan graduated from Lowville Academy in 1971 where she played the clarinet in the band. She studied Nursing and SUNY Cortland. Susan was a LPN at Crown Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Groton Community Health Center and several other area nursing homes. Susan is an avid Quilter. She was a long time member of the Purple Hat Society.
Susan is survived by her loving children, Gary (Kim) Stage, Tom Mitchell, Laura Mitchell, brothers, Mark and Scott Bero, sisters, Trisha McNamee, Julie Bero-Emerson, and several nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
Susan is predeceased by her daughter Sherri Mitchell.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
