Margarette June Kabanuk, November 26, 1925 – March 30, 2024 went to be with her Lord peacefully and painlessly on the day before Easter. She was predeceased by her husband George; her parents Clarence Hamilton and Inez Bishop; her brothers Lawrence (Margaret) and Fred. She is survived by her three sons, Ken (Karen), Keith (Debbie) and Kevin (Christine); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Shirley Hamilton. Her mom died when she was nine years old, and from that point on she raised boys, her brothers, then sons, and of course her husband George. She worked at the bowling alley, Cortland State, and Kelloggs Auto. After her husband's death, she spent the rest of her active life as a volunteer at Barry School, the hospital, Brewster House, Loaves and Fishes and anywhere else she was needed. She always put others first. She will be missed by all who knew her. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2024 from 9:30-10:45am, at the Grace and Holy Spirit Church, 13 Court St., Cortland, NY. A funeral service will follow at 11am. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Grace and Holy Spirit Church or The Elizabeth Brewster House.
