Tish,
What an unexpected honor it was to have had Jim join “our” MUNI, Wilmington, NC golf group more than four years ago. Jim and I hit it off immediately because we both loved the game and wished we were better at it. Fortunately for me, the two of you, Tish & Jim, visited Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church as guests of Ginny and Mert Raner becoming regular attendees while in Wilmington. We had some “deep and thought provoking conversations” on and off the golf course.
Jim and I frequently exchanged emails during his time back home keeping me informed on how the treatments were progressing, or not. Jim was so positive and upbeat knowing that the “battle belonged to God”. Even when things were not looking good Jim maintained his sense of humor which helped me to stay positive. Jim is in a much better place but his great personality and positive outlook on life will be with me forever. Thank you for allowing Jim to be apart of my life.

Jim and I were partners in the Nassau County Police Department for over twenty years. We were best friends and dealt with many tough situations over that time.
When difficulties had to be faced, Jim was the one I wanted to at my side. And he was always there.
Love you brother.

While it is tough to say goodbye, I feel blessed to have had Mr. Kane in my life for some important years. He was like family.
My first memory of Mr. Kane is him teaching me to shake hands like a man, a strong firm grip, while being careful to not hurt anyone. I have shaken hands this way ever since.
I remember fishing with Mr. Kane and my father a few times. He was always the life of the trip.
Another memory is going skiing with my father, Mr. Kane and I assume other members of the Kane family, but this dates back many years ago. I was a difficult kid to say the least, I refused to ski down the slope, and was screaming at my father. Mr. Kane wasn't having it, he calmed me down, tucked my legs within his and off we went. By the time we got down that slope I loved skiing and I remember taking the lift by my self all day long.
My regards to all of Mr. Kane's family and friends. He is and will be forever missed. But I can't help but smile knowing how lucky I am to have been blessed with his time.
Love to all,
Scott Kollar

Tish, My girls and I are so sorry for your loss. Just recently Ashleigh and I were discussing Jim and the "write up" she got from him at school. She had to remind me about it as it had slipped my mind. We got a good laugh and she is proud to have been someone special to him. You both remain very special to us. We send our sincerest love and prayers to you. Love the Ainsworth family.

I always appreciated meeting with Jim and sharing our concerns for and love for Christ's church and leaders. He was a great guide and loving pastor to learn from. Both he and Tish served as great role models and friends.

My Sister, Melanie, and I were very sorry to hear of the passing of Pastor Jim Kane. Our Dad, Ron, always enjoyed meeting with his prayer group for the guys over breakfast on Thursday mornings at a local diner. We were very grateful for Jim and Tish comforting us with the passing of both of our parents, Ron and Jane, within a year and a half of each other. Jim, thank you for your friendship and love over the years.
