Marna Beth (Sampson) Butler, 80, born September 23, 1943, in Cortland, New York, formerly of Homer, New York and currently of Cincinnatus, New York left this world to be with her beloved husband William Henry Butler on July 17, 2024. Marna is survived by her three daughters; Cathy Butler (John Byroads) of Cincinnatus, New York, Barbara (Walter) Jones of Little York, New York, and Deborah (James) Butler-Miller of Little York, New York, eight grandchildren: Douglas (Lisa) Potter, Matthew (Julia) Potter, Erin (Ben) Wheeler, Stephanie (Beth) Hartquist, Kyle Hartquist, Chelsea Jones, Meagan Hartquist and Rebecca Hartquist. As well as five great grandchildren; Jadon, Kaia, Lee, Jacob, and Weston. Marna is survived by her two sisters Carolyn (Charles) Waltz and Jan Stevens Klempa, her brother-in-law, Donald (Terry) Butler and sisters-in-law Beverly Congdon and Bonnie (Wayne) Coon as well as several nieces and nephews. Marna was predeceased by her loving husband, William (Bill) Butler, her parents Orrin Leonard Sampson and Genevieve Conrad Sampson, two brothers: Orrin Leonard Sampson Jr. and David Vere Sampson and her sister Susan Reta Sampson. A joint Celebration of Life for Bill and Marna will be held at Little York Park, Little York, New York on September 22, 2024, for friends and family. A private grave side burial will be held for the family at Glenwood Cemetery in Homer, New York at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Cincinnatus Volunteer Fire and Rescue department in Bill and Marna's name. The family is incredibly grateful for their compassionate service and care.
