Obituary of John Thomas Rogers

John Thomas "Tom" Rogers 84 of Lake Como, NY passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 29, 2024. Tom was born March 23, 1940, in Cortland NY to George and Mary Rogers. Tom attended Cortland High School after which he engaged in various careers before becoming a machinist at Morse Chain, Monarch Machine and Tool, and the Paul Trinity Corporation. He was also an avid fisherman, so much so that he and many of his lifelong friends would often fly to lakes in Canada for an annual fishing trip(s). He was also deeply involved in nature conservation and the outdoors. And as many did not know Tom and his wife Bernice were diehard NASCAR fans. Lastly, Tom was proficient bowler for many years in various leagues throughout the area. Tom was predeceased by his wife Bernice Rogers, parents George and Mary Rogers, brothers George "Bob" Rogers and Buddy Rogers. He is survived by children Terresia Rogers (Terri Greene), David Rogers, Robert Storey and predeceased by Kim Storey. Tom left behind grandchildren Jeremiah Rogers, Daniel Turner-Rogers, and Megan Storey. Tom also had four great grandchildren and leaves behind many nephews and nieces. Tom, to put it simply, was loved deeply by so many, especially the residents of Lake Como that befriended Tom and his wife when they moved there more than 30 years ago. One could be more verbose about Tom, but simply put he was a loving, kind, and compassionate man.
