Obituary of Alice H. Parker
Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alice Hazel Parker, affectionately known as "Candy," passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones and beloved animals at her home in Scott, NY. Born on July 27, 1948, to Charlotte Warren (Miles) and Don Parker, Candy was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone around her.
Candy was predeceased by her mother, Charlotte Miles, her loving stepfather, Richard "Dick" Miles, and her cherished daughter, Charlotte Hapgood. She leaves behind her devoted son, Richard, and his wife, Rosalie Hapgood, as well as her sister, Donna Wheeler, and her husband, George. Candy was a proud grandmother to Michael Hapgood, Karla Sturmer, Faith Lewis, Natasha Lewis, and Bridgette Lewis, and she found immense joy in her great-granddaughter, Adeline Lewis.
She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Tamie and husband John Mowry, and Melody and husband Brook Smith, her Uncle Charles Warren, and her longtime friend of over 40 years, Matthew Wilson, along with cherished friends Sue and Gloria.
Candy dedicated many years of her life to her work, beginning with Smith Corona before finding her true calling at Cooper Tools, where she retired after 21 years of service. Her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on her colleagues and friends.
A graduate of Homer High School, Candy spent most of her life in Scott, NY, where she created countless memories with family and friends. She was known for her infectious laughter, generous spirit, and the love she had for her family, which was evident in everything she did.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service. Candy's family invites all who knew her to carry her memory forward through acts of kindness and love, just as she did throughout her life.
She has left this world to reunite with her parents, daughter, and God, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she cherished. Rest in peace, dear Candy; you will be missed more than words can express.
